Tykes registration will be limited to 100 Players

  • What: Instructional program geared toward introducing the game of soccer to the young ones.  The program is run by Jay Loveless, who is a 'D' licensed coach, previous president of Calvert Soccer Association, head coach of Northern High School Girls Soccer, Washington Area Girls Soccer team coach.  Mr. Loveless is supported in this program by his girls team which typically provides an individual instructor for every five children.  Scrimmages are held but there are no weekday practices or competition level matches.  Each child will receive a soccer ball and uniform.
  • When: Meet once a week, Central and Southern folk on Saturday or Sunday.  Northern folk will typically meet on weekday evenings.  You will be contacted by Jay by the beginning of April for your session dates and times.  The sessions last ~ 1 hour (40 minutes of instruction and a 20 minute game). The season is over by the beginning of June.
  • Where: At Calvert Middle School for Central and Southern folk, Twin Shields or Windy Hill Elementary School for Northern folk
  • How often: Typically seven sessions beginning in April until the beginning of June.
  • What you need to bring:  A uniform and ball are provided but you will need shin guards and athletic footwear.  Cleats are not required.  Also bring water.
